E is for Erogenous Zones, Erection, Eiffel Tower and Ecdemolagnia

Erogenous Zones

Erogenous Zones are sensitive areas of the body that may produce a sexual response when stimulated. Though the obvious erogenous zones include the breasts, nipples, anus, perineum, testicles, penis (really?) and the vulva, the whole body has the potential to be one big super-awesome erogenous zone. Here are a few other erogenous areas that may spark your interest:

1. The inner bend of the elbow where the forearm meets the upper arm. Play with this crease gently and see how your partner responds.

2. The Philthrum – this is the little indentation between the upper lip and the nose. Try playing with your partner’s philthrum with your lips, tongue and breath while kissing. Or you can get creative and stimulate the philthrum during oral sex play.

3. The Collarbone – in my Erogenous Exploration workshops, this is the body part to which women seem to respond most favourably and with the greatest surprise.

Erection

An Erection is part of a physiological process in which the clitoris or the penis becomes enlarged and firm. That’s right! Not only do penises get erections, but clitorises get hard and increase in size too. An erection occurs when the corpora cavernosa (two tube-like erectile structures found in the clitoris and the penis) fill with blood often (but not always) in response to sexual stimulation.

Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is a term for a two-man, one-woman threesome in which the men high-five one another so that their arms take the form of the Eiffel Tower over the woman. I’ve never seen this take shape in real life and I’d rate two men high-fiving as one of the least erotic sex moves I could possibly imagine regardless of this position’s connection to the city of love. If you’re interested in trying it out, I imagine that you could toy with the gender ratios to include three women, three men or two women and a man. However you paint it, I’d rather save the high-fives for when the sex session is finished, but that’s just me.

Ecdemolagnia

Ecdemolagnia refers to sexual arousal derived from travelling or being away from home. The term may sound unpleasantly clinical, but it may explain why travelers have so much toe-curling vacation sex while away from the stresses of home and work. Getting away from your regular routine and bedroom is a great way to get your juices flowing again even if it means camping out on your living room couch, at a local hotel or setting up camp under the stars. Go ecdemolagnia!
